Zoey - South Africa
Hi Baci Owners
I have just been given a jackapoo puppy, she's ten weeks old now and she is the most gorgeous pup I have ever had. I was amazed that there is an actual name for this cross and how so many other people have jackapoos. We called her Zoey and she is definitely the new family favourite. I'll attach a pic of her so you can see.

Zoey my three month old Jack-a-poo got given to me by a friend and she is the best gift I have ever been given. She is very loving and so good with my three year old niece. She's very energetic and loves to play with our other dog who is a Jack Russell cross miniature pincher. Zoey loves walks on the beach and chewing on bones and she is my second shadow and follows me all over the place from the minute I get home from work till the time I leave again the next morning. I absolutely adore her!!!!

Kind Regards
Joy

Zak - Edinburgh, UK
Hi, just thought i would send a photo of my jackapoo, his name is Zak and he is 10 months old, love your web page. Keep up the good work, Alan Keith from Edinburgh.

Sadee - Toronto, Canada
I love Baci's page! It was one of the first I came across when I got my jackapoo, with a pup that actually looked like mine... and it's amazing how similar the little guys are personality wise. I attached a few pictures of Sadee, my now 7 month old, 12.5lbs jackapoo.

The 1st picture is a little blurry, 'cause I couldn't stop laughing

Reg - Wiltshire, England
Hello I have been very interested in your Baci Jackapoo site as I have recently got a Jackadoodle myself. We got Reg in March this year age 7 weeks and have fallen head over heals with him. He is a cheeky little chap who showers us with love and lots of sloppy kisses its seems like we've always had him.

He is now four months old and his coat is wild and wooly looking, his mum is a three colour rough coated Jack Russell, black tan and white, and dad is a black poodle Reg has tan eyebrows and feet and a white goatee. He has big ears and quite a long tail (these bits seem to be growing the most!)

He really is no trouble and comes everywhere with us and is adored and admired wherever he goes. He is very social and will play for hours and has already made a few doggy pals in our neighborhood. His best mate is Jerry an enormous Lab cross who lives next door, its hilarious to watch them play as Jerry is ever so careful not to step on Reg as he runs circles around him and under him.

The pictures included are of Reg age 7 weeks and 4 months.

Best wishes
Val and Reggie

Maizey - Pennsylvania
I just LOVE your site. It is so hard to find information and pictures of Jack-A-Poos. Here is a picture of our little Jack-A-Poo... her name is Maizey, and she has kept us very busy since we got her! She is a rescue dog, and I do believe she understands she got a second chance at life, because she really does want to make us happy. However, like most that I have read on your site, Maizey is a lot of work, too. The nice thing is that she is a sweet mix of go, go, go, and then cuddle, cuddle, cuddle. This picture shows her at 8 weeks, and she is now 12 weeks.

She has grown a bit, and I will send you some more "mature" pics of her. We have found her to be quite intelligent, easy to train (except for the chewing...I've got to find something to help the chewing), and I believe she will make an excellent therapy dog. Plus, we have two little girls, and Maizey has taken a liking to sliding down the sliding board. She will sit and beg until we lift her to the top, then she will slide herself down and beg for more.

Christine

UPDATE OCT '07:
Here is an updated picture of Maizey - she is now 6 months old and weights 10 lb, 11 oz. She has been such a joy to us. She is happy, personable, and her face is absolutely undeniable! We have had strangers walk up and take her picture, and her vet insists she should be in the movies! She has been fairly easy to train, and itās amazing to see the new phases of Maizey. Like Baci, she has started to bark all of a sudden. It almost surprises us when she barks because we are not used to it! Regardless, the entire family is in love with her (except for the cats) and I look forward to seeing your updated posts. Itās like a window into what is coming next with Maizey.
Best Regards!
Christine

Lucy - Valencia, CA
Hi, I enjoy your website very much. Very informative!! We have not had a dog in 20 years and we did not know quite what to expect in this Jackapoo breed. Our Lucy sounds a lot like your Baci. She is lots of fun, has tons of energy and sleeps about 10 to 11 hours a night. She loves people and kids. We have tried to give her dog toys but she just chews them up within minutes. The only thing that seems to work for her are Nylabones and Bully sticks. Lucy is 1yr and 3 mo. old and she weighs 11lbs. I don't think she is going to get much bigger.

Thank you for sharing your Baci with us. I look forward to seeing what he is doing next!

Jack - Plymouth Meeting, PA
My jackapoo's name is Jack.. He is 4 years old and loves to be chased by other dogs (he eggs them on) and he loves to catch frisbees and thinks he is the mayor of our town.. he has to know every thing that is going on. We are happy to have Jack in our life. He definitely solicts a lot of questions regarding what he is... the response from his owners is "he is a jackapoo.. what are you?"

Duncan - New Hampshire, USA
Hello, Rob and Irene!
Here are some pics of our little guy. His name is Duncan. He is 14 months old.

We really had no idea what a jackapoo was when we got him. I just knew I could NOT leave him because he was TOO adorable. Who knew jack russell + poodle = most hyper dog ever! Haha. When reading your blog last week, I saw that Baci started barking significantly more then usual when he was about 1 year old - I wanted to tell you Duncan has been doing the same thing! We also have used this "opportunity" to teach him to bark on command and also to be quiet on command. Have you had any success?

Thank you!
Candi, TJ (and Duncan)

Note: Yes! - Baci is almost barking to the "Speak!" command now, thanks to Irene's hard work!

Charlie - Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
My name is Charlie and I was born September 7th, 2006. My mom just read your site and can't believe all the same things Baci and I have in common. Even down to our white paws but I have yet to grow any silver hair.

Casey Violet - Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
I just wanted to thank you for having a web page dedicated to the Jackapoo. Casey Violet is my first Jackapoo and my first dog for that matter. She was born 2/22/07 and I actually purchased her for my 7 year old. Wouldn't you know that I fell in love with her immediately, more than I thought I would.

I am anxiously awaiting training tips information to be posted on your site. As you probably know, there is not much info about this breed. Your site is all that I've come across so far that's been helpful, fun and informative.

I've attached a pic of Casey. Hope you don't mind. I will patiently wait for training tips from you (especially potty)!

Boo - Northampton, England
Hi there, I'm from Northampton in England and I have a 7 week old Jackapoo called Boo. It's impossible to get information about the breed in the UK so your site has been a great resource to me.

The little thing has a face of an angel but he loves to get into mischief!!! He sleeps for a long time but when he's awake he can't get enough of his toys and my shoes!!!

Take care

Popcorn - Toronto, Canada
Hi there, I have a jackapoo myself. Her name is Popcorn and she's two years old.

A lot of people think she looks like Falcor from the movie The Never Ending Story! I live in Toronto and I haven't seen many jackpoos, so it was fun to find your site.

Gabi & Oreo - Louisville, Kentucky
Hi Baci!
We are Gabi, short for Gabrielle, and Oreo, because well I look like an Oreo. We are eight week old sisters that our owner adopted from a sweet lady who had a happy accident with her Jack Russel and Toy Poodle. We have totally different personalities and love wrestling, whining and barking at each other. We love children and love to lick their faces clean! We love your website and look forward to seeing more updates on Baci!

Dolly Madison - Missouri
Hi Baci Owners:
This is Dolly Madison when we first got her last December, above, and here she is now at 10 months old!

She obviously likes to play not only in the kitty litter but in the sand box outside as well:) Having a jackapoo has been one of the greatest pleasures of my life. She is so affectionate, playful and incredibly smart. We also have a Siberian Husky, Micah, and they play together very well as you can see.

I never thought that I would gush about a dog but Dolly brings that out in me. She has been very easy to train and the only issue we have with her now is that she wants to be carried around quite a bit. It is like having a two year old child in the house! She is on the small side for a jackapoo at not quite 7 lbs. and we don't anticipate any late growth spurts. Thank you for the great website!

Doug - Wasaga Beach, Ontario
This is our dog Doug. In this picture he's 3 months, he is now 6 months. Doug is our little terror, but he's smart as a whip. He can roll over, speak, jump through a hoop, play dead, ring a bell on command, he loves to fetch and play tether ball.

He needs a little work on his manners though, he gets a little excited with people and other dogs. But we're working on it.

Emma Louise - Hollis Center, Maine
My name is Emma Louise and I reside in Hollis Center, Maine. I am a very busy jackapoo and love to chase my cats around the house...They are about the same age I am, 8 months. I act as though I am doing the job I was "hired" for when I herd them into the basement when they come in from outside! I love the play fetch constantly and wil outdo my family members because I will never stop until they stop.. (which comes much sooner than I want!)

I don't hurt the cats as we love each other very much and have "kissing" time often. I also love to hunt for frogs in the evening...I love to watch them hop around, l want to put them in my mouth but my owner takes them away. I am very intelligent and can pick new games and trick up very quickly. I so enjoy looking at the other dogs on the computer!

Buddy - Chapel Hill, NC
What a beautiful Dog you have!! I have a pup named Buddy. Buddy will be a year old on 11/10/2007. He's a jackapoo and what a hand-full! He's such a loyal dog but like everyone says, tears up anything plush and adores the filling. Unfortunately, he's got a bit of a separation issue, but we're working on correcting it and he's doing so well!!! Thanks for all the pix of all the Poos! Now Buddy has friends too!!

Sam - Buffalo, NY
Hello, I would like to introduce Baci to his "cousin" Sam! We got him from Janice at Double J Kennel in August. He looks just like Lexy from Canada that you have a picture of....somehow Sam, Baci and Lexy have some sort of "family tree" thing going! He is now a little over 4 months old and the picture I am sending was taken today after his first haircut. I had a Jack Russell prior to Sam, and let me tell you Sam is all JRT!!!! Smart as a whip and active as can be....he loves to pull me around (125lbs worth) on my rollerblades and has a vertical leap of almost 4 feet!

Let me agree with you on how awesome this breed is....and how great Janice is too!

UPDATE: SPRING 2008 -

Congrats on the upcoming twins! Be sure to bring an item or two home from the hospital (we used the little caps from their heads with our previous Jack Russell) for Baci to smell and sleep with before the babies get there so he is accustomed to the "scent" and will feel more familiar with the babies. And remember to still give special time to Baci while you are holding the babies as well... Here's a couple of updated pictures of Sam after his most recent haircut, he's 10 months old now!

Oscar - Devon, UK
Hi this is my jackapoo Oscar he is 9 weeks old and is just the cutest little thing ever. He has so much energy and such a big personality. Love the site it is really useful to us here in the UK as they are a new breed over here so not much is known. Will send another pic when he gets older. Oscar from devon United Kingdom.

KC - Cape Girardeau, MO
We bought our jackapoo two months ago - he is KC for "King Cole." My 9-year-old daughter wanted to name him coal because he was black. KC is AWESOME! He is a total lap dog!!! Like your Baci, he does not do well kenneled or gated in! He chewed through the baby gate we put up and then started jumping over it!!! We always have to be in his sight. I work at home doing medical transcription - as you can see by one of the pictures, he lays right under my feet by my pedal! The other pic shows him using the remote control as a pillow!! We adore KC and he loves to go on car rides! He is now 5-months-old and we love seeing all these other jackapoos and hearing the stories!!! I can't believe how my are black with the white paws and how they look so similar!

Latte -
Hi! Her name is Latte. She weighs 7.8 lbs.originally she was a chocolate color. Now her color has lightened a lot we tell folks "too much cream was added". Smile! She is undergoing "hearing dog training" & seems be doing pretty good. Just have few items need to fine tune. Hope all is going well with Baci!

An update on Latte - she has learned the sign command for "dance". She's soo cute! We are working on the "down" command. Another special command she has learned is placing her front paws on your leg to ask permission to jump in your lap. The command for permission is tapping your leg 2 or 3 times.

Pancake - Brooklyn, NY
My boyfriend and I love your site! Baci is super cute and it was great watching him chase his giant tennis ball. We adopted our own little Jackapoo from a shelter a few months ago. Meet Pancake! She is 8 years old and spent the beginning of her life locked in a closet with 5 other dogs. Luckily - she was discovered by the ASPCA and now we hope to make the rest of her life great. She is more laid back than Baci (she is a senior after all) but still loves to run and play. When we walk her, everyone thinks she's a puppy. Keep up the great site!

Dora - London, UK
I just came across your website and am so happy there are more Jackadoodle fans out there. I have two dogs: one is a Jack Russel, Jim, and the other a Jackadoodle, Dora. Dora was such a success that my mum got herself one, Lily. And then some friends of ours also acquired one -- Alfie. My best friend has one called Layla, and her mum also got one called Dottie.

They are the best little companions you could ask for. Totally hyperactive but adorable and amazing and absolutely wonderful.

I attach a couple of pictures of Dora who is now nearly two years old. I noticed you had two other JD on your website (Molly and Guinness) who are from Arbroath & Dora came form there too. I suspect from the same breeder. I now know 5 or 6 people who have all got them from this guy and the dogs are fabulous. When oh when will they be accepted in The Kennel Club??? But then the secret will be out...!

Your little Baci is SWEET and so is the website.

Ruth - Minnesota
I ran across your jackapoo site...very cool.

Ruth was one on July 2, 2007. She loves playing a 'tune' and will do does lots of other tricks...the only thing we can't do...is come when she's outside and we call her.

Christine
Minnesota

Note: We reccomend you use high-value treats to teach your dog to come, and attach a simple hand signal to the command. It is EXTREMELY important to master this command in case your Jackapoo may face danger - running into a busy street, or an aggressive dog approaching, for example. Good luck!
