Jackie -
Hi! We love your site about Baci! Thanks for sharing so much information about Jackapoos! It is so hard to find. Our jackapoo is named Jackie, and she is the best pet ever!!! She has major energy and will eat every toy you give her except tennis balls so needless to say there are about 20 laying around the house at all times. She tries to play with 2 and even 3 at a time! Jackie is 9 lbs and is two years old. We bought her online from a breeder in Kansas. She looks alot like Baci's friend Rudie from Chelmsford, MA. I wonder if they are related? Jackie was born in August 2005. Thanks for letting us share our stories and being friends with Baci!

Homer - Scotland

Molly - Fife, Scotland
'just thought I would send a picture of our molly she is now 12 weeks today, in the picture she was 8 weeks and we had just brought her home. She is very naughty but she is allowed as she is still a wee pup and wont go out in the rain. We live in Fife, Scotland and we got her from a breeder in Glenrothes. My daughter has one too her name is Rosie she came from Dundee, and she doesn't look a bit like molly.

Romeo - Coeur D'Alene, Idaho
Greetings, from Coeur D Alene Idaho I'm sending a baby and a grown up pic, of our Jackapoo Romeo who is 7 now. On his 1st day home he made friends with and adopted a lot of Grandparents on our street. They decided his name should be Romeo because he is a little lover.

Romeo has poodle hair but he is all Jack in attitude. He is very smart and was so easy to train, he never ever messed in the house. He even knows different rules for different homes. He will wait to have his paws wiped at the door. He is very loving and a Velcro dog. He is also very empathetic with people and other animals. If he senses a threat to me, he will put himself between me and whatever it is. We have learned if he does not like someone (rare) he always ends up right.

He is the boss dog no matter how large a dog is in fact he taught a pit bull and a Doberman that once when they tried to steal his girl. He loves vegetables probably because he was trained with veggies. He is very energetic and is still like a puppy in so many ways. He will line his toys up in whatever room he is in, he knows all the colors and if any are missing. His toys have to be large dog, Indestructible.

He also loves herding Wild Turkeys, Moose and Goats. He will watch and sit with Deer and Wild birds for hours, even made friends with a Woodpecker. Female dogs the bigger the better. Indoor cats but not outdoor ones especially if they go after his birds. Going hiking in the mountains and tracking. He has a lot of tricks some of his favorite tricks are: High five and High five the other paw. Saying "me!" When asked whos mammas baby. He also loves car rides and made a move 2 years ago across the US.

Bob - England
So nice to see a site dedicated to Jackapoos! My boyfriend and I recently got a Jackapoo pup named Bob (aka Oblivious Bob). He's 11 weeks and has just been out for his first walk. He loves everyone and always runs up to people and other dogs with his tail wagging. He always likes to curl up and fall asleep as close to us as he can and he's a real sweetie. Bob is currently going through a phase of liking to tear off round the house with any paper he can get hold of. We're hoping it is only a phase, although it is pretty entertaining! We also think that he is mounted on springs as he's constantly hopping up and down, especially at dinner times. He also seems to have developed quite an obsession for sticking his head into mugs as you can see from the photo.

Mocha - Brisbane, Australia
It is great seeing lots of other dogs like ours - Jack Russell + Poodle but in quite a few different colour combinations.

Attached is a photo of our Mocha. He is now 7 mths old but was only 2 mths old when this pic was taken.

He loves running at the park chasing birds and giving other bigger dogs no chance of catching him! He has just learnt to sit down beside us while waiting to cross the street. Brisbane, Australia Hello to Baci from all of us in Brisbane, Australia!

Nutmeg - Coeur D'Alene, Idaho
Janice told me to send you pics of our Nutmeg for her site. I'm not sure if you got my last email I noticed form your site you have been quite busy. So sending another pic:)

Nutmeg lives in Coeur D Alene, Idaho with her 8 year old brother who is also a Jackapoo.

She is 6 months and 1 day old now. I got her after seeing Baci's blog :)

Starbuck - Jersey, Channel Islands, Great Britain
This is the latest edition to our family Ð he's called Starbuck and he was born on 29th February 2008. Dad is a black miniature Poodle and mom is a Parson Jack Russell; as you can see, she has long legs and so far Starbuck seems to be taking after her in body shape and size, although he's got more of his dad's coat. He's also got a lot of terrier attributes (especially digging up newly-planted bulbs!) and he can be a bit nippy sometimes but he's inquisitive and a quick learner Ð he was easy to house train and is learning lots of simple commands. Not much sign of the Poodle love of water Ð we live opposite a beach but Starbuck doesn't even like getting his feet wet!

All in all, he's a super little dog and we couldn't be happier, he's very bomb-proof and incredibly well-suited to our household. I'll send another picture when he's full-grown.

Love your site, by the way - we came across it when doing some research on Jackapoos; I am amazed at how much variety there is amongst all the pictures in your PooPals section (although you wouldn't think two of Starbuck's siblings were even from the same litter as they are brown with short, straight Jack Russell hair).

Madra
I have a 20 month old Jackapoo, Madra. She is a rescue puppy. I rescued her at 6 weeks old (she was born in shelter).

Like Baci, she is smart, affectionate, easy to train, and the most loyal dog. She takes her CGC test next week, she does agility, and she loves it.

However, now that she is getting older she has the same approach to new dogs as Baci. She used to love other dogs, not anymore. Her patterns for new dogs seem exactly like Baci. However, we are a work in progress.

Tilly - Wales, UK
I have been looking at your website and loved it. My Jackadoodle 18 months ago now reading your website I was laughing out loud about how similar she is to Baci. She has taken over my life with her boundless energy but in an amazing way she is my world. Hope you enjoy the photos 2 are of her as a puppy and the others are her now.

Teddy
Hello there, I have been browsing your site for a while now, and thought I'd share a photo of my Jack-a-Poo, Teddy. We got Teddy at 3 months old, and now he's nearly 2! Time sure flies!

You can plainly see both the Poodle & JRT in Teddy, he's definately got the Poodle coat. But, when he's shaved down, you'd never know there was Poodle in there. Here's a recent picture of Teddy, as you can tell, he is a very happy little guy with a big personality. Teddy is very vocal and demands your attention. Also, he's very intelligent and is quick to outsmart us. We love him to bits, and couldnt imagine our home without our little Jack-a-Poo.

Danika Marie - Orange County, CA
This is Danika Marie she is a stray roam rescue from the Orange County shelter. She is about 3 months old in this photo. Has proven A challenge to our three cats and other small dog with her high-strung energy. But she has been a great addition to the family.

Toffe - Devon, UK
I love your web site and wondered if we could add our puppy to Baci's friend list - I have attached two photos and a little information about him: This is Toffee, he is five months old and his mum was a white and brown Jack Russell and his dad an Apricot Miniature Poodle. We bought him from a lovely farm in South Devon, UK. Toffee is increadibly bright and playful and has already learnt the basic commands of sit, down and beg. He loves being taken out in the car to the beach and enjoys socialising with other dogs. Toffee is great with our two children and has been so easy to train. No complaints yet!!

Phoebe - United Kingdom
Hi! I love your website! Here is a picture of Phoebe, at about 4 days old! She is a Jack-A-Doodle and absolutely gorgeous!!

Milo, Nottingham, UK
Thought you would like a few pictures of Milo our Jackapoo...Most of his hair is wirey like his J-R Mum, but has woolly-ish feet, face and ears like his poodle dad - he didn't malt at all until about 3 - 4 months when his hair started getting longer and even now is very low malting. We too get lots of people asking what type of dog he is and often gets confused for a daschund or border terrier although I think this is mainly due to his colour.

He is definitely a terrier at heart and he too adores chewing the stuffing out of teddies as well as digging however, when it comes to interlect, is a poodle through and through. He was house-trained in less than two weeks and can count the amount of accidents he has had in the house on my hands. He passed his Kennel Club Puppy Foundation with flying colours (he is working for his Bronze award now) and has picked up a variety of commands after just a few goes. Like a lot of the Jackapoos on here, he loves toys and playing fetch although is sometimes reluctant to bring it back unless he thinks there is something in it for him i.e. sausage! He is very sociable and loves people, children and other dogs - although he is very high energy, at times mischevious and absolutely not a lap dog, he is very loving and affectionate. I found this site invaluable as there is very little information on Jackapoo cross breeds and a lot of snotty breeders and websites that look down on cross breeds of any kind. I would recommend Jackapoos as a family pet and hope Baci finds lots more e-pals

UPDATE, SUMMER 2010:
Thought you would like an updated picture of Milo - he is now 18 months old and has his full adult coat. As you can see it's quite thick and wavy. We've not had him trimmed yet but instead, hand strip by brushing him a few times a week - he loves it and preens while you groom him.

Personality wise, he is still a little tinker and very playful (the poodle bit!) but also has started enjoying just chilling out and relaxing instead of being on the go from morning til night. He has also become much more content to snuggle up to you and have a fuss rather than wanting to bounce round all the time (however, this still happens on a regular basis where he does circuits of the house and garden when he gets excited!). He is still picking up tricks and has learnt a 'High-5' and 'wave hello'. He has also taken up swimming and loves getting in rivers and streams for little paddles (although isn't keen on baths after going in muddy canals and ponds which seems to happen on a regular basis).

Big licks to Baci,
Milo (and Sue) Nottingham UK

Max - Alpharetta, GA
We just wanted to thank you for your website. Thanks to you, we were able to determine that our little Max is indeed a jackapoo. We rescued him from a shelter last October and he just celebrated his first birthday with us on August 3rd. He has maxed out at a whopping 7 pounds, but thinks he is about 10 times bigger (all attitude)! He has been a complete joy from the moment we brought him home and is the happiest dog I have ever encountered. It’s been interesting to read the various other comments by jackapoo owners and we can especially relate to the disposition and high energy level. Who would think such a little dog could do so much damage to so many toys (and shoes, and carpet, and various other items)! Again, our sincere thanks to you and all our fellow jackapoo owners/lovers. Wishing you all many, many happy years together.

- Shari, Alpharetta, GA

Keiser, Washington
This is Keiser. My husband and I just adopted him from a rescue three weeks ago. He was advertised as a poodle mix, but we couldn't figure out what the "mix" might be. I was searching for poodle mixes and stumbled across some pictures of Jackapoos! I knew it instantly that this is what he is, he looks just like most of the dogs I've seen online! I was so excited to finally know what kind of dog he is (to be able to anticipate any behavior issues, health issues, etc.)! My husband and I are absolutely, head-over-heels in LOVE with this dog. He can be a terror sometimes, but he is just as sweet as the come and about the smartest puppy I've ever seen! I’m so excited to start a new adventure with the newest member of our family!

Elphie - Madison, WI
I'm in my mid fifties and after my cocker spaniel passed away, found I still needed a dog in my life. I found Elphie through Heavenly Hearts Rescue in Wisconsin. She was brought to WI from the Bowling Green KY Humane Society. I don't know much more about her past - we guess she's between 2-3 years old.

Elphie is the sweetest most loving dog with that unique terrier personality. She goes to doggie daycare twice a week to help run off her endless energy. When not dashing around the house chasing her toys, she loves to cuddle next to me on our chair - I bought an oversized recliner just for the two of us.

Judy, Madison, WI

Coco - Savannah, GA
Baci,
This is my best friend Coco. She seems to understand what I say to her and knows my every mood. I adopted her from my daughter when she was givin this pup. My daughter did not know how to care for a pet and I told her I would take the pup. She has been the best companion I have ever had. I can't say enough about the love she has brought me. I have never been a small dog person, I raised and trained German Shepards. It has been a new experience for me!

We recently rescued our Jackapoo Fred (my 4 yr old daughter named him, LOL) and while looking up info about them, I ran across your site....love it bunches!!!

Chocky & Cookie - Queensland, Australia
We love looking at all the beautiful photos of fellow Jackapoo souls. These are my two little treasures Cookie and Chocky. Born July 2007. They are sisters from the same litter and are the best of friends. They were the only two Born, so we were told, and my Husband and I couldnt bring ourselves to seperate them. The Mum was a Miniture brown Poodle and the Dad a escape Jack Russle- and suprise what do we have- our two little brown girls.

They never leave my heal, and are extreamly smart, loyal and some times just a little bit to cute. They know when I am ill, and try to make me feel beter. They are better than any medican that the Doctors have ever tried to give me. I am so gratefull to them every day. The above photos were taken today- so they are 2 1/2.

I've always been a dog lover. Ive always had larger dogs. However... Cookie and Chocky are just as determined, just as capable as any of my larger dogs were. We live in the Country, and dispite the fact that these two get treated like little princesses, they are fearless at snaping a snake in half, and keeping the country mice out of my kitchen.

I could brag, and go on about these little girls, that have huge hearts, however just as any true loving Dog parent knows, its hard to not to be proud. Thank you for all your Beautiful stories and photos. Please email meback to let me know that this site is still being kept up to date.

George - Yorkshire, England
We have a 5 month old Jackadoodle (jackapoo) called George.

His dad is a black and tan Jack Russell and his mum a black miniature poodle.

He is very quick and learns tricks, commands in about 3 go's. However is reluctant to do much without a trade of a treat which I think is pretty bright in itself. At 8 weeks he was leaving when you said 'ah - ah', coming when called, sitting, fetching and leaving then at 9 to 10 weeks was laying, standing and giving paw (gimme 5) and jumping to give both paws on 'gimme 10' as well as pushing a door open on the command 'push, push'

He is just ace!

Pippa - ???
I've really enjoyed reading about Baci and his adventures and thought I would submit two photos of our own poo, Pippa, who would like to be one of Baci's PooPals. Pippa is about 14 months old now and came to live with me and Rick (my husband) in February, when her previous owner was desperate to find her a good home after an injury meant she would no longer be able to look after Pippa. The previous owner had a number of dogs and all had been rehomed but poor Pip had nowhere to go, so we were more than happy to have her!

You can see she's an exeptionally wooly (and waggy) girl; pic 2 (with the heart cushion) was just before grooming and pic 1 was a few days after, looking a lot neater. Pippa is an incredibly loving, eager and cheeky little lady and is always trying to convince our adult cats that they want to play with her, though they would rather sleep. She charms everybody she meets and says a big hello to Baci!

Regards
Catherine
